Andrew Allen Yates of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Isaac Yates and Ivy Mae Bishop Yates, was born on Saturday, March 6, 1943 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, October 12, 2020 at his home. He was 77 years, 7 months, and 6 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Christian Church. He was a mechanic for Central Farmer's Supply Company. He had worked for Yates Welding, and also in the oil fields servicing the oil wells and oil rigs.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Bennett Yates on October 31, 2014; a daughter: Marilyn Eason; a step-son: Ricky Bowles; and two sisters: Geneve Yates and Elsie Mae Yates Bailey.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lisa Ann Yates Hall and Ken Hall of Greensburg; step-sons: Shannon Tedrow, Steven Bowles, both of Greensburg; four grandchildren: Brandon Davis of Indiana, Brittney Davis of Greensburg; Jonathan Shemwell, Harold Shemwell, Jr. both of Russell Springs; step-grandsons: Josh Tedrow, Brian Hall both of Greensburg and Jordan Tedrow of Campbellsville; a host of great-grandchildren; five brothers: Isaac Tommy Yates of Metcalfe Co., Edgar "Tarpin" Yates and his wife, Kim, Joe Yates, Lawrence "Bucket" Yates and his companion, Tammy Hunt, and Ricky Yates all of Greensburg; four sisters: Rachel Capurro and her husband, Tony of Florida, Mary Helen Posey, Rebecca Sue Anderson, and Judy Absher all of Greensburg; uncle and aunt: Garnett and Faye Bishop of Summersville; special cousin & caregiver: Tammy Tedrow of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Andrew Allen Yates will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Central Time, Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Robbie Harmon officiating.
A walk through visitation is requested from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
