John Douglas Milby

John Douglas Milby of Greensburg, son of the late Roy Milby and Irene Wilcoxson Milby, was born on Sunday, May 4, 1930 and passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Greensburg. He was 93 years, two months, and 29 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer and worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Company. He loved fishing, watching NASCAR, and watching University of Kentucky Basketball.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Margaret Hinton Milby on June 17, 2005 having united in marriage on May 27, 1949.

Survivors include a daughter: Joan Ellen Miller of Campbellsville; a son and daughter-in-law: Kevin Milby and Megan of Danville; four grandchildren: Beth Pike and Dustin of Danville, Natasha Milby and Alyssa of Lexington, John David Pickett of Campbellsville, Trae Pickett of Elizabethtown; three great-grandchildren: Keightley Pickett, Fairington Pickett, Luna Pike; a brother and sister-in-law: Roy Wayne Milby and Mary of Tennessee.

He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Dr. Joseph “Joe” Miller; a sister: Nancy Carol Yates; and a brother: Bruce Milby.

The funeral services for John Douglas Milby will be conducted at 2 P.M., Central Time, Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Brenson Bishop, Bro. Kevin Brantley, and Bro. Freddie Norris officiating.

Visitation is requested after 10 A.M., Central Time, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Crossroads Youth Program or the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
