Louise Slinker-Shepherd

August 22, 1924 — September 1, 2013

Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Homer Hall and Velma Stearman Hall, was born on September 22, 1924 in Taylor County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 88 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was also a former Clerk for the Green County Health Department.

She united in marriage to Marvin Slinker on July 9, 1941 who preceded her in death in May of 1988. She later united in marriage to Charles Shepherd in September of 1994, who also preceded her in death on January 15, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Rita and Billy Hancock of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Tyler Hancock, Dr. Tessa Emmons and her husband Dan all of Greensburg, Tate Hancock of Auburn, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren: Chad Emmons, and Emma Emmons both of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Linda Hall of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Shepherd was also preceded in death by a brother: Henry Hall; and a sister: Leontene Noe.

The funeral services for Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Curtis Slinker and Bro. Darryl Coffey will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 9 P.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M. Wednesday until time of the funeral service. PALLBEARERS:
