Mrs. Shirley Irene Rasch Schultz of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elmer and Cora Sweet Rasch, was born on September 25, 1941 in Burlington, Wisconsin. She departed this life on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington, Kentucky having attained the age 82 years, two months and 13 days.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a faithful member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. Shirley served her church in numerous ways, including as an Upwards basketball volunteer, member of the United Methodist Women of Faith and part of the card ministry.
She was an executive secretary for Merkts Cheese in Wisconsin, and after moving to Kentucky, was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for Central Farmer’s Supply in Greensburg.
Her friendly smile and caring personality could be found volunteering at Taylor Regional Hospital as a member of the hospital auxiliary. She was awarded the 2023 Taylor Regional Hospital Volunteer of the Year.
Shirley loved to bake and her family and friends enjoyed all of her treats, but her grandchildren loved her special chocolate chip cookies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Frank Schultz, on May 7, 2019, having united in marriage on November 26, 1960.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Amanda and Charles Crane of Lebanon; a son and daughter-in-law: Dwight and Tiffany Schultz of Salem, Wisconsin; six grandchildren: Jeremy Crane, Dustin Crane, Casey Crane, Aubrianna Henke, Miya Maki and Nadia Maki; three great-grandchildren: Konner Crane, Iris Crane and Lily Crane; one sister and brother-in-law: Doris and Glen Carnahan of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Glenn and Nancy Rasch of Sandy, Utah and Jim and Linda Rasch of Minnesota; one sister-in-law: June Rasch of Twin Lakes, Wisonsin; her dog: Bella; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother: Melvin Rasch.
The funeral services for Ms. Shirley Schultz will be conducted at 11 AM, Central Time, on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Greensburg United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Dale Curry officiating.
Visitation is requested on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM, Central Time, at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg and after 7 AM Friday until the time of the service at the church.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to Greensburg United Methodist Church, which can be made at the funeral home or the church.
